Installing NMAP on a Windows Computer
Installing NMAP on Windows is as simple as going to NMAP.org and selecting the newest NMAP setup file. This will install all of the necessary files to use NMAP on your Windows computer.
It will also install Zenmap. This is the Graphical Interface for NMAP for those who are less inclined to use a terminal type environment.
Installing NMAP on a Linux Computer
If you’re using Kali Linux or another security distribution of Linux then NMAP is most likely already installed.
If you’re using most versions of non-commercial Linux the instructions are on NMAP’s website here.
For the purpose of Paranoid Penguin, we will primarily use NMAP on Kali within Virtualbox and on Windows 10. I will from time to time switch to Android or another version of Linux.
Installing NMAP on an Android Device
Installing NMAP on your Android phone or tablet is a great way to learn NMAP on the go. It’s also very easy to do.
While there are apps in the Google Play Store that emulate NMAP none equal the real deal.
How to Install NMAP on Your Android Device
